About the Music:

Madison newcomer Elissa Waller and veteran of the Madison music scene Doug Brown come together this evening to perform jazz standards and 60s pop hits. Both have a strong connection to the mission of Gilda’s Club, and they are excited to be part of this event. Doug’s father was an oncology researcher, and his mother passed from the disease. Elissa was diagnosed with a brain tumor in August 2020, and she just completed her treatment in January 2022! She’s a passionate advocate for adolescents and young adults with cancer (AYAs) and works to raise awareness of cancer in this age group whenever possible.

Doug plays numerous instruments in many styles, composes eclectically, and performs with The Honey Pies, Ken Lonnquist, Faux Fawn and many others.

Elissa can be found hopping on stage at informal jams around town and sings with the Wisconsin Chamber Choir. She moved from Melbourne, FL two years ago and fell in love with the music community in Madison.
